MY CAMBODIA EXPERIENCE,MY MEMORIES:D

This is my first time visiting Cambodia for a CIP purpose. I had really enjoyed this trip a lot. This trip turned out much better than i had expected.

From the briefing, we were told that we are going to have a 2 night home-stay,  and I felt that the home-stay will not be a nice place to stay in. But when we reached there, it had proved me wrong, the villagers make it a comfortable place to stay in, with all the mattress and nettings to make us feel comfortable. Also at the village, the villagers were very friendly and cheerful. I think one thing we can learn from them is to be cheerful and happy no matter in what situation and also we need to appreciate what we have now.

As my group is in-charge of the bio-filter,we went there to build a bio-filter for them. All the washing of sand and gravels was tough, we have to keep washing to make sure that they are clean. But in the end, I felt that all the hard work was paid off when our bio-filter succeeded and clean water came out from the tap. I think that it is all worth it as the villagers will be able to have cleaner water to consume on.Another thing that I had learnt was to perservere, the trekking was tiring but when we reached the waterfall and played in the water, I find that it was all worth it.In life, we will not have a smooth journey ,but if we perservere till the end, we will get to enjoy what we earn.

From the visit to the museum and to the killing field, I really felt very fortunate to be in a safe country now. Its really very saddening to hear from our tour guide, Mr Pisey on how innocent people were killed. I felt sad when i stepped into the museum and the killing field.

This trip has really taught me a lifelong lesson which I will not forget.  We need to treasure the things we have and never take it for granted and also not to waste food and water as they are really precious. I am glad that I am able to help the Cambodians, and I will help the poors and the Cambodians more when I can and have the ability to. We are being really fortunate to be in Singapore and we must treasure what we have. Had an awesome and wonderful time with the leaders and also not to forget the help of the teachers. I will never forget this trip and what I have learnt through this trip.
