My Cambodia experience. My Memories ♥

This is one of the trip that i will treasure most in my secondary school life. If I'm not mistaken, our batch is the first ever batch to be staying in a home stay for 2nights. I did not regret coming for this trip. In fact, i feel very lucky to be in this batch and to be able to travel to Cambodia this year with enthusiastic leaders!

Before coming for this trip, i always thought that Cambodia was the worst and most poorest country and that its surrounding is very dirty and i had doubts that i will survive this trip. I had ever plan to back out from this trip. However, i was proved wrong. Kampung Chambok was just like any other kampung i have been to, only a little bit more poor. The people there are all so friendly, especially Mr Cham and our tour guide, Mr Pisey ! My landlady was the most caring, motherly lady I have ever met in Cambodia ! Although english was a foreign language to her, she tried her very best to make sure we are very comfortable staying at her home. It was considered well-furnished for such countries like Cambodia (: There wasnt any air-conditioner nor fans but it was really very cold at night! It was quite comfortable staying there. The only challenge staying there, was the toilet .__. It was so hard to shower that it was a record for me not to wash my hair for 3days :/ i could only rely on my hair moisturizer . But hey, I survived it in the end , no we did ^^

Through this trip, i learnt many new things and i tried many new things that i think its a once in a lifetime experience. One of it was the building of well! it was my first ever time building a well, and it was a great experience ! my favorite part was the human chain and singing songs to keep us going . it shows the amount of team work and determinations that we put in (: seeing the happy faces of the villages made our day and it was a new achievement for all of us!

There were things that i couldnt forget as welll. One is that, when were giving out and distributing the rice and noodles, one of the bag was torn by the grass and all the rice was poured on the ground, the reactions of the villages was describable. It shows how precious rice is to them and here we are wasting food. Another incident was when we were all making the bamboo rice, i spotted several kids going to the dustbin where we all threw away our bottles. They searched for bottles with water in it, they took it and drink it. These incidents was an eye-opener for me . And lastly, at the primary school , i was giving out the notebooks and colouring book, they would all say orgoon before receiving it with both hands. They respect us and they have manners. It was a lesson learnt and a reminder for me.

On the last day, we visited the Tuol Sleng Museum and the killing fields. Mr Pisey told us the history behind these places. It was one of the most tragic places i have ever visited and the  pictures displayed was really very tragic. Somehow i think it was worst than the Japanese Occupation :/

My favorite part of the trip was the bonding we had during the long bus rides . Laughter, singing, joking, taking silly pictures was the best part of the trip. School mates that i wasnt really close to in school, became my bestfriends ♥

Time flies so fast when we're all busy having fun during this 4days 3nights CIP trip that we're all now back in Singapore and blogging our experiences now. I swear, i will never forget this experience at all . I bet if i didnt went for this trip, then when else will i be able to visit a third world country. I didnt regret going to this trip because it made me smile most of the time . " Never regret anything that once made you smile in life " (;
