Helloooooooo Cambodia!

Hello!
This is Miss Choo! I thought of doing a short introduction of myself too since I don't really know many of you, neither do you know me.

Some basic information about me (in relation to school)...
1) I just joined the SKSS family 6 months after you did.
2) I'm the teacher-in-charged of the Chairpersons.
3) I'm also one of the teachers-in-charged of Track & Field.
4) I teach Physics and Chemistry.

Now, why am I going on this trip? Because... believe it or not, I have never been on an overseas CIP trip with my school before. So just like most of you, this is going to be my first time too!

I have always wondered how people were able to build houses, toilets, wells in such countries. I used to dream of going to a developing country to build a school and teach the children there. So this will be the chance for me to be able to find out how they did it! Influencing children and building them up has always been my passion. So along with wanting to help the Cambodians, I think it would be great if I am able to share with you some precious lessons I have learnt as I grew up. =)

A new found interest that I have developed recently is scrapbooking. It has an amazing way of capturing the feelings of each experience. Let me know if you've done scrapbooking before! Perhaps we can create one after this trip!

Hi! My name is Jasmine Teo of class 2E5. My CCA is Girl Guides. I am a very shy person but I will try to be real hyper especially if I know you. I am a friendly person too. During my free time, I like to  go for a ride on my bicycle. I also like to watch movies online. ^^
When I know that I was being chosen to go to Cambodia for service learning, I was shock as the chance is rare. At the same time, I was happy too as I get to go other country and I get to learn more things. At the end, I hope to achieve to be more independent and to be more confident. Also, I hope that I can get to know more friends and be more sociable. ><

Im Bernise Lau , of 2e3 . Im from girl guides . I would go crazy when there's music and books are awesome  ! I hope to meet more friends here !
I feel very lucky that i have been chosen for this trip as this is a rare chance and only limited number of students can be selected to go . Since i've been chosen to go for the trip , of course i would have build a purpose on it . My purpose of this trip is to make more friends and learn more lifeskills and also learning to be more independent after the trip . I would also like to learn to be a better leader after I've come back from the trip .  I would also like to know more about Cambodia , and understand their way of life . I've not been there before and I am interested in what i would learn after the trip . The achievment that i hope to achieve for the school , is that i would grow to be a good role model for the juniors . I also hope to become more independent at home , so that i won't have to rely on my parents so much . I really hope to achieve what i wish to achieve after the trip .

My name is Ryan and I am from 2E4 2011!:) I am from Track and Field !  I am a part of the Student Council !
 I know Wushu and love to joke around and love to be hyper with others !
What I hope to achieve in this trip ? I hope to achieve a new experience for myself of what the life of the people there like and also learn new values throuh this trip, I also hope to teach my family about having a simple life, like how the Cambodians life is without all the expensive stuff or the luxury we have and appreciate whatever with have now. In school, I hope to share with my friends about the trip, showing them that we are really very fortunate to be here in Singapore and also give them a knowledge of what a less developed country is like and hope that they will learn from it. I hope to learn new leadership school so that I am able to lead a group more effciently.

Nurul Natasha is my name and I'm a part of 2E3'2011 (: I'm a malay dancer :D And I'm also a student councillor !

I love learning new things. You will always see me with a storybook. I have a passion for dancing and photography. I love to do window shopping as well . I love joking and being hyper with very fun people ^^

I would hope to find many new cambodian friends there.  I would also like to help and make this trip and meaningful and an unforgettable trip for everyone ! If it's possible, i would also like to have new penpal when I get back home. Through this programme, I hope I can help improve someone else's life as well. Whatever experiences i would gain there, I would like to share it with my fellow school mates and my dearest family. My seniors have ever shared their experiences about their trips to Cambodia. I was told that this trip would be an eye-opener for us. It will make us realized how fortunate we are in Singapore as I heard that life in Cambodia is really tough and many live a less fortunate life. I can guide my little brother and tell him everything about the life in Cambodia and hopefully he will be able to learn new things as well. From this CIP trip, I hope I can learn more on how to conduct a CIP progamme so that I would be able to lead, organized and conduct a CIP programme for my juniors in the future, efficiently.

im SyazanaAmira of 2n7 , im from MLDDS . im also a chairperson . im small , but im LOUD ^^v im friendly and i make friends easily . so please dont shyshy with me okaaay ? ;D i think that ZaynMalik is cute but i adore NathanSykes more , hehehe . i love horror movies but after watching them , i cant sleep >< i enjoy music and entertainment . im not into kpop so please dont talk about them around me (; dancing is my passion , music is my soul . i guess thats all about me you should know ? want to know more about me ? im lucky to get to go to this trip because not everyone gets the opportunity to go to Cambodia . therefore , im really am looking forward to this trip . in this trip , i can find new leadership skills and more . in Cambodia , the people there are not really rich , i guess the purpose of going is to know how hard is their lives there and also their culture and how they learn in school . i will also learn how to be more independent in Cambodia . i am interested in the places that we will go in Cambodia , from pictures and researching . i could picture that Cambodia is an interesting and beautiful place . i hope that this trip brings alot of benefits to me as i would like to prove to everyone that im capable of being independent and more .

Something About Myself, Shaun Gan 2e5 < +.+ >

HI, WOOHOO!!! I am Shaun Gan from class 2e5, my friends called me "GAN" because my class got two Shaun. My CCA is NPCC. My favourite subject is Mathematics and Science. I like to play computer games and go out to find my friends when i am free. i like to play basketballl, soccer, badminton and table tennis. I wanted to go to Cambodia so that i could help people living in a poor condition and experience a different lifestyle in Cambodia. I hope to have more friends after going for this trip. What i want to achieved at the end of the trip is to help those people in need and i will learn to be independent and learn how to survive in a different lifstyle. I would also learn to take care of my family as my parents are working very hard to earn money for our us. i would also help my friend and teacher in school whenever they need.

Hi, I am Joshua from class 2E5 and i am also from NPCC. I like to play basketball in my free time. I wanted to go to Cambodia so that i can help the less fortunate people and also experience a different lifestyle at Cambodia. What i want to achieve at the end of the trip is to bless the less fortunate people by helping them in their needs and also learn how to live in a different lifestyle. I will also learn that how fortunate are we to be living in Singapore where we will not suffer that much, as our parents are working hard to earn money for the family. I will  also try to help the needy people in school whenever they need help.

Hey there, I'm Charlene from 2E5. I am representing red cross together with my friend Raj.I like to dance in my free time and enjoys mingling with my peers, I would like to meet more new friends and widen my social connection as well as make an impact on people's life positively. :)

 I am very excited for this trip as it is a once in a lifetiime opportunity and hope to meet new friends, learn more about their cultures as well as learning some leadership skills to apply to my daily life as a councillor. I hope to do my school proud and help the needy from Cambodia to make their lives easier. I hope to make an impact on the people there to motivate them to share the love. I would also like to share with my peers on the life skills I have learnt there and persuade them to donate more to the needy people.

Introduction of Fiqah

I am Nur Fiqah of 2E2. My CCA is Media Resources Club. I am from the councillor group. I want to go to this trip because I want to learn to be more responsible and a caring leader. I will be able to help to improve the lives of the people. Futhermore, this is a once in a life time experience. I want to achieve my goal to be a caring leader at the end of this Cambodia trip. By helping the people there, it will build a strong good character development in myself. '

Our main focus of going to Cambodia is to improve the lives of the needy people, especially the children there. I hope to encourage my family members and schoolmate to be a responaible human of not taking things for granted. People usually do not appreciate what they have, till one day they lose them. They should not take things for granted. As and individual, I hope to make new friends in Cambodia and  learn from their dificult lives there. I hope by seeing their poor living conditions there, will help me realise that I must be grateful for what I have in Singapore. Hopefully, this trip will be meaningful and of course, a fun one. I am already looking forward to this trip!

Hi~ I'm Edward of Seng Kang Secondary School(Singapore),2E1(2011).
My CCA is Media Service Club and I'm the Assistance-Head of Sound.
My hobby are surfing the net, making new friends.I love to joke around and socialize with people ~
I'm very thankful and honoured that my school have given me a chance to have a trip over to Cambodia to do CIP. From this, I hope to have a fruitful trip that widen my knowledge of Cambodia, enable me to make friend of different culture of people in Cambodia, and also to test myself to be independent. From this trip, I also think that my family would have a peace of mind when I enter the army as I will learn be much independent from this learning trip. From this trip, I hope to raise the impression of Singapore and our school to the Cambodia people there that we are caring, helpful and we are able to work as a team                                                                                   .

I am Marcus lee from 2E4 , i am a councillor and my CCA is NCC.
What do i wish to achieve during this Cambodia service learning trip for myself  is to make new friends and to learn about other countries that is in need of help.
What I would like to achieve for my family is to let them know that there are other countries that need help and we could do things like giving them food so that the people there could live a better life
What i wish to achieve for my school is to make the students know about the life of Cambodia so they could donate more money or items to them. I would also want the students to wish to help people in Cambodia so that next year more leaders would like to go for this Cambodia service learning trip. 
I hope that this trip could help me learn to be a better person and learn not to waste anything we get.

I am Poh Sze Ying of Sec 2E1.My CCA is badminton and I am from the council. I hope that through this service learning trip, I will be able to learn more new things and make more new friends.I would also like to help the needy people in Cambodia, through this service learning trip. It will be a great experience for me to learn about their culture and lifestyles and how the people live there. Hope that I will be able to help the people in Cambodia and also help improve their life. Also, after this trip, I hope to be more appreciative of my parents for providing me a good life and also their care and concern for me. Also appreciate what I have now, the care of my family and friends, and the good environment I have now. After this trip, I hope to work better with my school mates and contribute and serve the school better.

I am LIAN HUI SHI of secondary 2E2. My cca is Band and I am from council. I hope to achieve new knowledge like the culture and lifestyle of Cambodia by the end of this sevice learning trip. Also, I would want to help the needy people in Cambodia and make new friends through this trip. I think this is a great experience for me as i can learn how other people live in other countries. I am happy that I can play a part in helping people and make it a better place for them to live in. After this trip, I hope to be more appreciative of my parents for providing me a good life and appreciate what I have now. For myself, I think I would want to appreciate the people around me and also the good living environment I am living in now. Hi . My name is Nadyra Ardila of 2N7 . I'm proud to say that I am from Hockey cca . I wanted to go to Cambodia because from what I've heard from the seniors , they said that it was a once in a life time experience . It will be my very first time heading to Cambodia , so I'm looking forward to it . At the end of this 4D3N trip , I hope to change the lives of people living in that city of Cambodia . The needy ones . From there , I will be able to learn how to appreciate things around us and not take things for granted . The people living there may not be as wealthy as us but still they could lead a happy life . By the time I got home , I'm proud to tell my family members about the trip and how it could affect us if we would take things for granted . 

When I'm there , I would to experience myself living in a state like the people in Cambodia where their lifestyles of living is different from the way we people live in Singapore . Mostly , they live in villages and I hope to at least stay a night at their villages . Hopefully it will be a fun trip for me and it will be a meaningful and memorable one . So that , there's memories to be brought back home .

I am Hang Zi Ying Joanne of class 2E2 . My CCA is Netball . I am a sports leader . My favourite subject is maths . I hope to know all my groupmates and understand them better and also work with all of them better after the trip . Becoming more independent and caring towards the less fortunate people and also know more about the culture in Cambodia . After these trip , I want to be more appreciative towards what i have now and knowing how fortunate i am after the Cambodia trip . I want to be more appreciative for what i have in school , having a good and confortable study environment . i love to sleep,eat and play netball.i love to talk and joke with my friends too.

i also like to take part in outdoor activities and travel. And also play badminton.

By going Cambodia,i really hope that i will be more independent and also be more discipline. This will make me less dependent on my parent thus i will be able to lessen their burden slightly .

i also hope that i will be able to help the people there and make their lives better. Also making an impact to their lives. i also wish that by the end of this trip, i will become a better person and also a better leader so that i will be able to serve my school abnd make it a better place. Our purpose for going on this Cambodia trip is to help those needy people by building wells and roofs for them so that they will have a better living conditions.

I hope that at the end of this trip, we'll be able to let them have a better living environment for them to live in. 

By going on this trip, I also hope that I'll be able to learn to be more independent and self discipline. Also, to be a better leader to serve this school.

the idea of going to Cambodia was scary but then i want the experience ? yaa , maybe ? helping people is kind of fun even though it's hardwork . because got satisfication .. but i don't want after camp like someone got sunburn :D HAH !  yaa , satisfication was a main reason why . and even though i am lazy , i will work when there are important work to do .  maybe after the camp i will zhen xi ( forgotten english for it ) home more .. because like that . dunno how explain laa ! and also if we at Cambodia got good impression on the people there , then SKSS will be more known as not just a neighbourhood school but a school that's helpful ? , caring ? and a school that got good character . agree horr ?

my name is Nurpriska Fitri Annisa Putri . my friends called  me priska :) i've got such a LONG name . i know right ^.^ want some ? come get some ! :) heheh . i'm from secondary 2N7 and my cca is TRACK AND FIELD :) hmm... i've got alot of hobbies (e.g outdoors activities etc. ) but i love DANCING the most ! :) dancing is my passion , like DUHH ~
I started dancing when i was 12 years old .  kayh back to the cambodia trip !
In this cambodia trip , i hope that me and the others can learn new things and also learn about other culture . with this , we can get experiences and also can expand our knowlegde and share it with our families and friends . i want to bring back memories that i could remember for the rest of my life <3

About Ker Jie :D

Hi, i'm Ker Jie from 2E5. I am from Npcc. I like to go out and play during my free time. I also like to play basketball with my classmates. I can be something be quite addicted to my computer as I can be quite competitive with my friends and my game friends. I would like to make more friends during this trip as it have more friends to mix with. I have started working for my parents which is asking me to learn a skill out of it and understand that studying is actually much easier than having to work. I hope help the people there that are less fortunate as people in Singapore and also learn from their way of living with lots of hardship and understand that i am very fortunate to be living in Singapore and treasure it. I really appreciate the school for giving me the opportunity go to such a country. Thank you for your time ;D

Introduction of myself; Ng Kai Ting from 2E5 ! ;D

Im KaiTing from 2E5, and Im 14 this year . My CCA is Girl Guides . I don't have a favourite subject, so yeah . My hobby is Ice Skating, reading books, watching movies in Funsion and listening to different kind of music . I love horror movies and some kind of sadistic books quite a lot though it's quite digusting, but im not that sadistic . I love playing the guitar as well . And if you're friendly to me, I'll be the same :> Im looking forward to this Cambodia trip a lot, as this is quite a rare chance for students to travel overseas with their friends, teachers and school to help other people from other countries and to learn something useful there . I hope to learn the values of life and skills from the trip, and I guess I will be able to learn a lot of other things there as well . I can also apply the skills and the values that I've learn into my future life . I can teach / share with my friends and maybe my sister about the values . I will share the experiences about things I've done there as well . I would also be more appreciative of what my parents had done for me, and be grateful and to cherish what I have right now . Hi, every student leaders. I am Ernest Tan Jian Li from 2E5. My hobby is playing both English chess and Chinese Chess and also playing ( mostly anything ).  My favorite subjects are mathematics and science. My "cca" is NPCC. It's my first time going to Cambodia which is certainly new to me. I wished that I would be able to help them and let them learn a thing or two. In another hand, I also hope that I could learn something from them like their culture so that I can share my experiences with everyone else. I am TORYIJIE of Secondary 2E2. My CCA is Basketball and I am under Sports Leaders. I am glad that I was chosen to go for the Cambodia service learning trip. I would like to go on this trip as I hope that I will be able to help those needy children who are not as fortunate as us. At the end of this trip, I hope that the things we are going to build for the children would be useful for them, and that they would be happy to have them. I hope to gain independence as well, as I would have to take care of myself during the trip. I would be appreciative of my parents for bringing me up in an environment which is a lot better than those in Cambodia. I would also be able to learn to be a better leader and serve the school.

I am Aloysius of secondary 2E5,my hobby is fishing,cycling and playing basketball ,I come as a NPCC cadet.I hope to make more new friend from this trip so that we could help out each other when we need help.I also wish that i chould help the locals there with what i can such as giving them stuffs and helping them to do stuffs, building well,teaching the students...... Pre-trip Activities

Get into groups of about 3-4 friends (teachers can decide on the size of each group)

Your 1st post should be on an ‘Introduction’. Write about who is in the group, where you are from, what your group hopes to learn, see and experience during this time overseas. Group photos would be good.

Follow up on the 1st post with your reflections on the pre trip briefing conducted by your teachers. When possible, include photos.

During the Trip

Instead of the daily reflection, daily blog posts about the day’s activities should be posted. If there is no internet connection, please have your reflections done, saved as a Word document. When internet connection is available, post the reflections online. This will serve like an online diary for your group.

Post trip Activities

Blog about what was being done after the trip, with photos as well. Use this blog as a communication channel between your friends after the trip.
